Starting tonight Friday 9/11/09 perhaps one of the more anticipated events in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland is the September ArtWalk. The Artwalk has been around for over 14 years and over the span more than 1000 different artists have shown their work. Each month on the second Friday the galleries throw open their doors and maintain later closing hours.
This particular evening is a little more special because it is the unofficial kick off to the weekend Tremont Arts & Cultural Festival in Lincoln Park from noon - 6 p.m. This is the eleventh year for the annual festival which celebrates the cultural and artistic diversity of Tremont and Greater Cleveland by presenting the endeavors of visual and performing artists.
There will be sculpture, jewelry, fine art, photography on display. Come hungry because there will be lots of diverse types of yummy food to partake of. Bring the kids if you like since there will be children's activities and programs. Musicians dancers and performers will be roaming around for everyone to listen to and observe.
The art show is the crown jewel for anyone in attendance. There is all the wonderful art on display selected to participate in the Festival The top 3 artists will be awarded prizes for excellence by the jurors (all Tremont-based artists).
